Comité Mexicano Cívico Patriótico is a non-profit organization founded in 1931. They are dedicated to preserving Mexican history and culture in Los Angeles. They hold an annual parade and festival each September to celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day.
The parade is carefully planned each year to display a certain theme of the Hispanic community. Afterwards there is a festival full of music, performances, and fun for the whole family.
Here are the details for the 2016 Celebration:
Sunday, September 18, 2016
Parade 10 AM to 1:30 PM
Festival 11 AM to 5 PM
Corner of Cesar Chavez Blvd. & Mednik
They are also looking for volunteers, if you’d like to gain a new perspective of the festivities. More information on their website (but be careful – some may pertain to last year’s festival).
