The Montebello firefighters are hosting a community pancake breakfast on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 8 AM to 11 AM.
The cost is $5 per adult and $3 for children. All the proceeds go to their annual toy drive. If you want you can bring an unwrapped toy valued $5 or more, in lieu of payment.

Still looking for a Thanksgiving to join? This wonderful group hosts a free community Thanksgiving meal at First Christian Church in Whittier. The entire event is run on donations.
As the Facebook page says, “Come out and be a part of this fun, family event! If you’re here…YOU’RE family.”

Halloween Capers is a free community event, that is safe and friendly for the whole family. There will be face painting, activities, and a costume contest.
It takes place on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
There will be treat giveaways and snack vendors, so you can be sure the little ones are eating safe snacks.

City of Downey presents their Dia de los Muertos Art Festival on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Event goes from 11 AM to 8 PM. Admission and parking are both free.
There will be live music and dance performances, face painting, sculpture art, and a Dia de los Muertos art gallery. Located at the Downey Civic Theatre Plaza, in Downey, California.

Comité Mexicano Cívico Patriótico is a non-profit organization founded in 1931. They are dedicated to preserving Mexican history and culture in Los Angeles. They hold an annual parade and festival each September to celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day.
The parade is carefully planned each year to display a certain theme of the Hispanic community. Afterwards there is a festival full of music, performances, and fun for the whole family.

Admission is $5 per adult, with funds going to support Cantwell High School sports programs.
