San Gabriel is hosting their 40th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in Plaza Park starting at 6:00 PM.
There will be music, live dance performances, a free holiday-themed photo booth, and a chance for the kids to meet Santa. And at 7:00 PM the Mayor will flip the switch on the tree. It’s a great way to meet your community neighbors and kick off the holiday season!

Come to the Day of the Dead Family Fiesta in Old Pasadena, on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. There will be many fun activities for the whole family, including:
- Free calavera face painting
- Fun, hands-on craft activities sponsored by the Armory Center for the Arts
and Color Me Mine Pasadena
- Day of the Dead merchandise and artwork from local artisan vendors
- 75-minute family program with storyteller Olga Loya
- Musical performance by 6-piece Mariachi Tesoro de Rebecca Gonzales
- “In Tlanextli Tlacopan” Aztec Fire Dancers will provide an authentic ritual performance dressed in extravagant costumes

The 35th Annual Village Venture Arts & Crafts Faire will be in Claremont on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 9 AM to 5 PM. The event is so large, they have organized free shuttle service to alleviate parking trouble.
Browse the streets filled with art and vendors and enjoy a children’s Halloween costume parade at 9:30 AM.

The City of Pasadena is hosting an ArtNight where several museums and art galleries throughout the city will open their doors free to the public. There will also be free shuttles transporting people from various parking venues.
ArtNight is scheduled for Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

This year is the 235th Anniversary of the founding of Los Angeles. Each year there is a re-enactment of the nine mile walk from San Gabriel Mission (428 S Mission Dr, San Gabriel) to El Pueblo de Los Angeles (125 Paseo De La Plaza, Los Angeles).
Walkers can also join the procession at Lincoln Park (3401 Valley Blvd.) for a shorter 3-mile walk
This year the celebration will be on Saturday, August 27, 2016. The walk starts at the San Gabriel Mission at 6 AM. If you don’t want to walk, you can head over to Olvera Street and join the celebration from 9 AM to 1 PM. There will be Los Pobladores historic re-enactments, music, exhibits, and lots of birthday cake!

Southern California’s original and largest Asian-themed night market will once again take over Santa Anita Park in August and September. The 626 Night Market is a collection of entertainment, games, music, and amazing food.
Admission is $3 per adult. Children 6 years and under are free.

LA County Fair is September 2-25, 2016 in Pomona. General admission is $14.00 to $20.00 per adult, but there are some days you can go at a discounted price with these special offers.

- September 7-11: Just $2 for single-day admission for active & retired military, veterans, reserves, fire, police and paramedics w/ ID; and $2 single-day admission for one guest.
Food Drive Fridays

Donate five canned goods (per person) and receive one free admission that day only. The canned food will be donated to Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and local charities.
