On Friday, March 3, 2017 the Arts department of the Los Angeles Metro presents an evening with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith. This will take place in Union Station’s Historic Ticketing Hall. Doors open at 8 PM and the show starts at 8:30.
Her music is a unique blend of rhythmic patterns and melodic pulses, inspired by Kaitlyn’s time spent on Orcas Island in Washington state. According to the event, her work “her creative work continues to be infused with and inspired by the vitality and serenity of Orcas.” Gabriel Reyes-Whittaker, known as Gifted & Blessed, will also play his music before Kaitlyn performs.
This event is free to attend, no reservation required. But seating is first-come, first-serve. Check Facebook or their website for more information.
You can spend your Valentine’ Day learning a dance of love! Free tango lessons will be offered at Union Station on February 14, 2017, followed by social dancing (milonga). Music will be provided by a live orchestra – Tangótico, led by Matias Piegari. Carlos Barrionuevo and Mayte Valdes will also dance for the audience.

Fridays in December head over to Union Station’s South Patio for free musical performances and free hot cocoa. There will also be photo booth, holiday crafts, and prizes for “Ugliest Christmas Sweater”.

- Friday, December 16th – A Swinging Holiday Performance from the California Feetwarmers
- Friday, December 23rd – A Very Salsa Christmas with La Picante
Both shows are from 6 PM to 8 PM. Admission is free, but if you can please consider bringing a new unwrapped toy for the Southern California Fire Fighters Toy Drive.
